Namaste Wahala

It is a 2020 Nigerian cross-cultural romantic comedy called Namaste Wahala, which means “Hello Trouble.” Hamisha Daryani Ahuja made her directorial debut with the film. For the main roles, Ini Dima-Okojie and Ruslaan Mumtaz are both in this movie. As two of the biggest film industries in the world, both Bollywood and Nollywood worked together on this movie. The movie is about a relationship between an Indian boy and a Nigerian girl, even though they come from very different backgrounds and cultures. It opened in limited theaters in Nigeria on December 1, 2020, and got good reviews from the critics. The movie was streamed on Netflix around the world on February 14, 2021, which was Valentine’s Day. It was not well-received by critics.

Indian-Nigerian businesswoman Hamisha Daryani Ahuja, who is now a filmmaker, is behind the project. When she was a child, her family moved from India to Nigeria, where she lived and worked her whole life. In an interview with CNN, she said that she wanted to make a film that mixed elements of both Bollywood and Nollywood. For the love story between two big movie companies, Hamisha used what she had learned about living in Nigeria to make the story. Besides being the director of the movie, she also had a small role in it and later made her film acting debut.

After J. U. D. E. (2017), it became the second film in which both film industries worked together to make it. The parts of the movie that were shot in Lagos, Nigeria, were mostly in English, but there were also parts in Hindi and Nigerian Pidgin. More than 60 people from India and Nigeria worked on the project. The film’s post-production was also done just before the COVID-19 pandemic led to a lockdown.

Official news about the movie was made in February 2020 when the film director posted a first look poster on Instagram. It quickly became one of the most talked about and talked about movies in Nigeria.
